The newest navigation map, Europe 2020/2021 for the Audi MMI 3G Basic navigation system is released in October 2020. This new navigation map of Europe is very detailed and routable to the house number.
Audi MMI 3G Basic navigation system is now able to join the Audi MMI 3G High and Audi MMI 3G Plus navigation systems in the installation of new, detailed, and routable navigation maps for the whole of Europe (2020/2021). These navigation systems are with hard discs.
Possibility to install a navigation map for the whole of Europe (2019) includes users of the Audi MMI 2G HIGH navigation system with a DVD disc too.
Within the newest navigation map of Europe 2020 for the Audi MMI 3G Basic navigation system, we can find a complete and detailed European road network and very detailed and routable maps for every state of Western and Eastern Europe and Balkan as well.
The installation process of navigation map Audi MMI 3G Basic Europa (East and West) 2020/2021 is divided into two different parts, East Europa part, and West Europa part. They need to be installed separately and you need to have two 8GB memory cards. They can not be used at the same time, but separately when needed.
Both of these regions are very well covered. With 95% coverage for West European countries and about 92%-94% coverage for East European countries.

Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria, Switzerland, Andorra, Belgium, France, Gibraltar, The United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.

The navigation menu, voice-guided navigation, and information are available in 8 languages. It is English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian (there is no language recognition).
In order to be able to react to traffic information, TMC or TMCpro provide services in the following countries. It is Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, and the Czech Republic.
How to check firmware version for the Audi MMI 3G Basic navigation system?
If you want to install the newest navigation map Europa (East & West) 2020 for the Audi MMI 3G Basic car navigation system you need to have the latest firmware version for the Audi MMI 3G Basic navigation system.
You will check your current firmware version of your navigation system in this few steps:
- Turn on your navigation device.
- Press the RADIO button
- Hold down the SETUP and RETURN buttons simultaneously for five seconds.
- After some time, on the screen of your navigation device, the version of firmware should appear.
NOTICE: The newest navigation map Audi MMI 3G Basic Europa (East & West) 2020 is compatible ONLY with DVD GPS 3G MMI BASIC navigation system WITHOUT Hard disc. This navigation map is not for MMI 3G High or MMI 3G Plus.
Installation of the Europe 2020 navigation map
We have installed Audi MMI 3G Basic Europa 2020 navigation map and tested it in Audi Q5 (2013). This car has built-in MMI 3G Basic navigation system so tests are even more correct.

The navigation map Europe 2020 is tested in many Western and Eastern European countries. One of the most important things is that map Europe 2020 is very detailed and routable to the house numbers. In this new update of the map, there are shown a lot more side streets and house numbers in them. In the previous map version, that was kinda lack.
Western Europe coverage – Europe 2020
The bigger cities and their regions of Western Europe are very well covered. Almost perfect. There is still a problem with house numbers in small rural places. Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and other countries of Western Europe have complete maps. Austria is very well covered with a detailed map of the road network.
Eastern Europe coverage – Europe 2020
Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia, Greece, Croatia, and Slovenia now have the most complete map for their Audi MMI 3G Basic navigation system. The amount of coverage for these four countries is about 92% and tests have shown us incredible work.
There are big covering improvements for Macedonia as well. If we compare the previous update and the newest one, there is a big difference. There are still some minor errors in the road network of Macedonia. From map update to map update, every new map edition is better and more detailed. The same situation is with road network of Montenegro.
